Project Wild Thing and Childrens relationships with Nature

I grew up in a village in mid-Wales and spent a considerable amount of time in the town, but that town was Aberystwyth and Aberystwyth looks out at the sea. My house was separated from that sea by a 120-meter Iron Age hill fort.

Animate Earth

Cardiff sciSCREEN has sister projects around Cardiff which debate ideas. One of these is Philosophy Cafe, and in March 2013 we joined forces with Philosophy Cafe to host a screening of Animate Earth.

Silent Running

In a future where all flora is extinct on Earth, an astronaut is given orders to destroy the last of Earth's plant life being kept in a greenhouse on board a spacecraft. Following the screening in November 2011, four experts gave their responses to the film which can be accessed via the right-hand menu.

The Garden

From the ashes of the L.A. riots arose a lush, 14-acre community garden, the largest of its kind in the United States. Now bulldozers threaten its future.
